Lynda Woodburn, MSW, LCSW

Lynda joined Jewish Family Services in January of 2005 and has served as Clinical Supervisor since 2007. Prior to joining JFS, Lynda had her own private practice providing individual therapy to adult clients. She has extensive experience working with chronic and long-term medical and mental health issues involving addiction, relationship skills, coping skills, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, adjustment and problem solving.

With over 25 years of experience in North Carolina and South Carolina, Lynda has worked in inpatient and outpatient programs at reputable facilities such as Behavioral Health, CMC-Randolph and Presbyterian Hospital, as well as with private facilities dealing with emotionally disturbed adolescents and adults with mental retardation.

Lynda specializes in individual, couples and group therapy dealing with such issues as loss, transition, depression, anxiety and coping skills, primarily through the use of cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior (DBT) informed treatments.

Lynda received her Undergraduate degree from Mars Hill College, her Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of South Carolina, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
