VolunTEEN Contract

Helpful Hints:

• Arrange a tour of the site you are interested in so you know what that organization does.
• Pre-arrange a meeting with your site supervisor to talk about your role and responsibility.
• You may want to role-play with an adult prior to the first meeting or interview. You may want to do this with a parent, older sibling or the VolunTEEN director at JFS.
• When interviewing remember:         
• No gum chewing
• Constant eye contact
• Say “Yes” not “Yeah”
• Minimize the “likes” “ums” and “ya knows”

Responsibilities:

• Be prompt, willing, and respectful at your volunteer site.
• Positive attitudes are a must!
• “What you see there, what you hear there, LET IT STAY THERE! Please respect the confidentiality of the people served!
• Keep an open mind when learning about new cultures and lifestyles that are different from yours.
• Follow through with your project and hours.
• Fulfill all agreed upon duties and responsibilities of your placement
• Speak to your volunteer site supervisor if you are uncomfortable or uncertain about your role/job.
• PROMPTLY INFORM JFS IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR PLACEMENT.
• Participate in a final evaluation with JFS.
