Parent & Family Services

At JFS, we’re committed to you and your family. When a family is faced with mental illness, when a spouse is struggling with domestic abuse, when a couple becomes new parents or sends their first child off to college or a spouse loses a job—we’re here every step of the way. We’re dedicated to strengthening families—it’s what we do best.
Therapy – There are any number of issues that may lead someone to contact JFS for therapy – relationship or marriage issues, coping with family stressors such as divorce, death, remarriage, blending families, children or adolescent’s peer and/or social issues, problems in school, risky behavior, or their own parents with medical conditions necessitating assisted living. Regardless of the issue that brings a client to JFS, our skilled professional therapists offer compassion along with results-oriented therapy and problem-solving skills to those who are struggling. Our therapists work with clients to bring about positive change and long-term solutions.
Groups & Workshops - JFS Parenting Place is our family resource program that provides a comfortable and welcoming environment where parents and caregivers can meet others with similar concerns, obtain information about all aspects of child rearing and participate in workshops, activities and discussion groups. JFS, in partnership with the Levine-Sklut Judaic Media Resource Center and Library offers a series of parenting workshops.
