Senior Services

Growing older is a part of the total life process. But later years can become lonely and difficult for many seniors and a stressful time for their families. JFS programs help older adults maintain independence and dignity through services that address the physical, mental and emotional challenges of aging.
Senior Outreach – JFS offers friendly visits, phone calls and Jewish programming to homebound seniors as well as to residents of local nursing homes and independent and assisted living facilities. Community volunteers from the Jewish community as well as clergy from the area temples provide lectures, music and entertainment with a Jewish theme. This outreach is often the only tie these seniors have to their Jewish roots.
Family Connections – JFS fee-for-service care management program helps out-of-town families concerned about the well-being of a local senior or disabled family member. Families in other cities can have peace of mind knowing their loved one is being visited and checked on by caring professionals. Read more…
Family Consultations – JFS staff provides support, information and direction for those planning care options for senior or disabled family members. Such decisions can be very stressful on a family but knowledgeable and caring direction can restore peace of mind.
Information & Referral – When available community resources seem overwhelming and it is difficult to determine the best source for help, JFS clinicians are here to refer clients to the appropriate, available community resources and help clients make the best choices.
