Community Tzedakah Fund
Provides assistance to individuals and families in emergency financial circumstances. JFS works to promote crisis prevention, long-term solutions, and self-sufficiency for those who seek help. Emergency assistance includes help with rent, utilities, medication, and other crises needs.
Those seeking emergency financial assistance are seen by a clinician to assess need and discuss long-term resolution.
JFS Food Pantry
Provides food, personal care items, and other necessities to help individuals and families through difficult times until independence can be reestablished.
Hospital Outreach Program
JFS provides “get well” cards to individuals in our Jewish community who are hospitalized. These cards explain the services that JFS offers.
The staff at area hospitals as well as the Rabbis and Caring Committees of the temples make sure that these cards are delivered to Jewish patients.
For more information about the JFS Hospital Outreach program, contact Bea Gibbs, Outreach Coordinator at bgibbs@shalomcharlotte.org.
