JOB TITLE: Clinical Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Programs and Services, provides therapeutic services and care coordination for clients enrolled in Jewish Family Services of Greater Charlotte, Inc. The therapist delivers clinical assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing therapy for adults and older adults while coordinating services to ensure continuity of care.
The position also supports outreach and engagement efforts to increase access to mental health services within the community and may assist with program development, community education, and collaboration with partner organizations serving adult and aging populations.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Clinical Services
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy and care coordination for adult and older adult clients.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop, implement, and update treatment plans.
- Deliver therapy in the most appropriate setting, including office, home, telehealth, or community locations when appropriate.
- Develop crisis stabilization plans when necessary.
- Coordinate services with JFS staff and community providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
- Attend community meetings and collaborate with partner organizations related to client needs.
- Serve as a mental health resource within the Jewish community.
Documentation, Compliance, and Quality Assurance
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including assessments, treatment plans, and service notes.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, insurance requirements, and professional licensing standards.
- Participate in quality assurance activities including chart reviews and documentation compliance.
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Participate in outreach efforts to increase awareness of mental health services for adults and older adults.
- Assist in developing and facilitating educational workshops, support groups, and wellness programming.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, clergy, and senior service organizations.
- Represent JFS at community meetings and events related to adult and older adult services.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and professional development.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with clients, families, staff, and community professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of Jewish Family Services.

- Insurance documentation standards and billing requirements
- Adult protective services and abuse reporting laws

DEMONSTRATED SKILLS
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic intervention skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to develop and implement treatment plans and client goals
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field from an accredited college or university.
Two years of verified full-time post-graduate MH/DD/SA experience providing direct clinical services to adults or older adults.
Current North Carolina licensure as LCSW or other licensed Master’s-level professional (e.g., LCMHC, LMFT).
