Crisis Response & Assistance

For the past 40 years and even today, when community members need help, JFS is the place they call. When someone is struggling because they recently lost their job and they need financial assistance or they are going through a personal crisis, JFS is here to help them get back on their feet.

“The staff is very compassionate and understanding.  I am very blessed to have Jewish Family Services in my life.  If it wasn’t for them my babies and I would be homeless.”

Care Management

Care management involves the coordination and planning of care for older adults so their long-term care needs can be met and so that they can maintain their independence for as long as possible.

By combining a working knowledge of community resources, psychology, geriatric care services, family dynamics and funding sources, our caring and compassionate staff advocate for their clients to ensure they have the physical and emotional support they need for the quality of life they deserve.

JFS staff helps to develop an individualized plan to connect clients to services such as:

  • Meals
  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • Financial support

If you have a loved one that lives in the Greater Charlotte area and you are local or in another region of the U.S. we can provide you with the service you want and the peace of mind you need.

If possible it is most helpful to contact JFS before financial situations become a crisis Please contact JFS to make a Care Management Appointment. Call 704. 364-6594

JFS manages the Community Tzedakah Fund, a special fund made available through the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte. Food Pantry

What started over 30 years ago, as an effort to reduce hunger in the Jewish community, and at the time serving just a handful of clients, helped almost 700 individuals and 336 families in 2019.

Jewish Family Services provides food, personal care items and other necessities to individuals and families that qualify. During holidays too, like Rosh Hashanah and Passover, JFS delivers special holiday bags to those who might otherwise go without enjoying a bit of holiday tradition.

With an emphasis on maintaining dignity and restoring independence JFS provides those who qualify, with a menu that allows the recipient to choose specific items every 2 weeks. Pantry recipients leave with more than just groceries – they leave with a feeling that the community cares about them and that they are not alone.
